One Zero One Identity is a Visual Poetry of Binary Numbers
Where are designers supposed to get their inspiration? Of course, in the ideas that light up their minds! As for me, I'm an admirer of binary numbers. First of all, it's a great invention that has allowed us to devise the language of machines; now we have computers, which have significantly altered our entire civilization. Secondly, binary numbers reflect the global dualities of existence like night and day, inhale and exhale, good and evil, life and death, etc. One can trace the philosophical interest of humanity towards what stands behind binary numbers to the Taoistic duality of Yin and Yang, and Christian theology. Moreover, binary numbers hold within them the simplest mystery of transformation and encryption. Take the code 101 and transfigure it to a decimal number - now it's the number 5, and classical numerology leads us to a completely different semantic field, with the occult significance of a number that produces a pile of meanings that weren’t there a second ago. One of these interpretations tells us that the number 5 designates the major Roman god Mercury, who had the distinctive feature of being able to unite dualities together, and was regarded as the inventor of all the arts. So, it’s all come full circle, right? Phew... Now we can move on to making some fun t-shirt and tote bags with One Zero One Identity.
